Although both dairies specialize in goat farming, they offer distinct and delicious confections. Surfing Goat Dairy is renowned for its goat cheese, boasting an extensive and award-winning menu of goat cheese, as well as delectable chocolate truffles. On the other hand, Haleakala Creamery is famous for its goat milk caramel, made in the traditional cajeta style, which is a type of dulce de leche made with goat’s milk. Cajeta is a thickened syrup made of sweetened, caramelized goat's milk, originating from Mexico.
Both dairies are a must-visit while in Maui, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Haleakala Creamery
Haleakala Creamery is a premium producer of handcrafted, small-batch goat milk Caramel Sauces and “Goatlato” Ice Cream, as well as Chèvre and other sweets. We use only the finest local ingredients found throughout the Hawaiian Islands to create our delectable treats.
Our 5-acre property is located in Kula, Maui, on the slopes of Haleakala, where our 25 goats enjoy sweeping views of Maui from our family farm. Each goat is a cherished member of our family and has a name. We are committed to improving herd traits for premium milk production, health, and good behavior.
Our “farm-to-spoon” products can be found at local retailers throughout Hawaii, and our caramel sauces are available nationwide through our online store. We take pride in our commitment to using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients, and our dedication to sustainable farming practices.

Surfing Goat
Surfing Goat Dairy
The Surfing Goat Dairy is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the unique world of goat farming in the midst of paradise. Nestled in Upcountry Maui, this farm offers a range of tour experiences and operates a full gift shop for your pleasure.
For a comprehensive look into the goat farming experience, the Grand Dairy Tour is the perfect choice. This 2.5-hour tour allows you to spend time with the adult and baby goats and learn all about the farmers' approach to cheesemaking.
If you're looking for more one-on-one time with the goats, the Evening Chore & Milking Tour is a great option. This one-hour tour lets you milk the goats and tuck them into their beds for the night.
Short on time? The Daily Casual Tour is a quick 30-minute option that still allows you to fall in love with the adorable goats and snap a few pictures.
After your tour, be sure to opt-in for the tasting flight. This experience includes all of the farm's most popular cheeses and chocolate truffles, so you can find your favorites. Armed with this knowledge, you can then head to the gift shop and shop to your heart's content.
